Green Wood Coalition is building a radically inclusive community that honours the worth of each person, regardless of circumstances. The term ‘radically inclusive’ is both an aspiration and the challenge of each day.
The magic of Green Wood has always been about uncovering our community’s hidden strengths and rallying people around the things we all care about. That means walking alongside people who are living with poverty, mental and physical illness, drug dependency, and disability.
By focusing on what’s strong and not what’s wrong, Green Wood works toward positive change that leaves no one behind.

Ongoing Drop-In Programming
Cobourg Hive - 20 King St. East

Mondays – Art Drop-In (2-4pm)
A fun and creative afternoon. Participants can bring their current art project or join in the art project offered at this inclusive group.

Every Other Thursday – Game It Out! (11am-1pm)
In partnership with CMHA – Playing games is a mood booster and provides the perfect opportunity to try something new and gain another skill. We will take the opportunity to utilize our personal and social skills while exercising our minds with logic, role play & math. Card and board games provided.

Fridays – Community Breakfast (9-11am)
All community members are welcomed into a safe and accepting space over a shared meal.

Port Hope Hive - 4 Centennial Drive

Mondays – Port Hope Beats Drumming Group (6-8pm)
Drumming is a great way to make new friends, relieve stress, and be a global citizen. Participants are encouraged to drop in, and drum with the Port Hope Beats. Drums provided; no experience required.

Thursdays – Art Drop (10am-1pm)
One of GWC’s foundational programs. Multi-faceted, self-directed art making in welcoming company. All are welcomed.
